What's New?
THE LIBRARY IS MOVING
The American Library is moving to a new location. In January or February 2000, the Library will vacate its
quarters on the Rue Saint Louis and move to a new site in the Bibliothèque Inter-Universitaire on the University's
"Richter" campus. We will contact you later with details about the move.
Needless to say, we are getting busy with a major housecleaning. Many second and third copies of
books in our collection will be added to those for sale on December 4th.
We will also be selling many older reference works including our 1948 edition of the Encyclopedia
Britannica. While lacking in the area of current events, this set would be an excellent addition to the library of a
"history buff", since the Britannica has always been the authoritative source for reference in the English
language.
OPEN HOUSE and BOOK SALE December 4, 1999
Our biggest one ever!
Our winter Open House is scheduled for Saturday, December 4th. This year's December sale promises
to be the biggest one in the history of the Library.
You will find hundreds of books in French, English and other languages for sale at unbelievably
low prices.
As usual, the American Women's Group will be on hand with free baked goodies.
If you have books to donate for the sale, please try to bring them to the Library before the third
week of November.
Word for Word to perform in March 2000
Our Friends from San Francisco will be back in town on March 18th and 20th with their production
of Alice Munro's "Friend of my Youth".
We have reserved the Maison Pour Tous in Celleneuve for these two dates. We'll have details for
you in a future newsletter. Meanwhile, see the Library's web site for information about
Word For Word and reviews of
past performances.
