What's New?
WELCOME BACK
After a complicated and tiring springtime move, the
Summer
vacation was a keenly-anticipated and well-deserved rest for the American
Library's staff. Our Library is now open and ready for an exciting new year.
The "bugs" have all been
worked out of the new electronic loan system and Françoise is eagerly
awaiting your visit to our new library. The demagnetizing equipment
arrived in the early Summer and is now working well.
We would like to express our sincere
thanks to the many volunteers who helped out during the move and who
continue to lend a hand with the daily operation of the library!
All of the books from the Rue Saint
Louis collection are now on the shelves at the new library and new books
are arriving regularly. If you have not visited the new American Library
on the Richter campus we urge you to come in and take a look. And while
you're at it, why not bring a friend or two? The new address is:
60, rue des Etats Généraux
34000 MONTPELLIER, FRANCE
Telephone: +33 (0) 4-67-13-43-99

To
all American Citizens in France:
On November 7th, United States voters will elect the first President of the new millennium. As American citizens living abroad, you have the right to participate in this election. With the increasing influence of U.S. policy on
international affairs, Americans carry a heavy burden of responsibility no matter where they currently reside. Therefore, I strongly urge you to register to vote without delay.
You will find information about all of the candidates
here, as well as links to each party's web site.
American citizens may register as absentee voters in their last place of residence in the United States. Please register early since some states may require that you have your registration form notarized (at a US consulate or at the Embassy in Paris).
For a direct link to the necessary voter registration forms on the Web
click
here.
For further information about the
Presidential and statewide campaigns, please visit the American Library and
consult the news magazines and other periodicals.
Please visit the library soon and
often. Françoise will be delighted to see you.
